My name is Andy Johnson I am 20 years old. I had some work done on the front top of my teeth last year some time in maryland. I had a crown put on my front 2 teeth and the tooth to my right side. I was eating this morning 10-15-2005, bit in to a piece of food and the crown chipped bad. It was the front tooth on my right side, I am very cautious of my teeth and I am very upset that it chipped. My smile means alot to me and now I cant smile I am embarrased about my teeth. One of the other big problems is that I do not have dental insurance, but if I can pay through payments then that would be very appriciated. I would just like to know what I could do about this delemma. Thank You for your time.

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Andy,...If it helps you feel any better, both natural teeth and crowns can break without apparently giving notice. It probably means that the porcelain has been weak for at least some period of time before actually breaking. Crowns can sometimes be patched up, but the permanent solution is to have a new crown made. I should note that I have made several assumptions to even construct an answer to your request, every case must be seen first hand to evaluate your actual condition and options. Placing a crown on a front tooth is one of the most challenging places to get the perfect match in shade. I do see many patients who chose to have multiple teeth crowned (or veneered) at the same time to improve their smile. Hope that helps, feel free to call if you want to speak in more detail.
